Day 1 (14/05/09 Thursday)
Tiba di KK dlm kul 0930 hours. Terus disambut oleh organizer event di airport. We were taken straight to Hotel Merdeka, Kg. Air. Where all outstation rider are staying. But if you guys are planning to go to KK, don’t stay in Kg. Air. When you told local people that you’re staying here, they will laugh out loud. Tempat nih serupa macam
Track sepanjang 1.5 km memang “mantap”. Kering, berdebu, high speed campur road garden hampir sepanjang 200m, step-up, step-down, burm beso, tight high speed off-chamber, dan drop setinggi 6 kaki. Agak kaget jugak aku, sebab xpernah dapat trek sebegini ruper.
Tamat training, malamnyer kami beramai-ramai pergi makan di sekitar kawasan hotel sahaja. Kami semua makan di Water Front. Menu simple-simple je sambil melihat sunset di KK. Hari pertama memang memenatkan. Jd kitorang bercadang utk masuk tido lebih awal.
Sunset at Water Front, KK.
Day 2 (15/05/09 Friday)
Seperti biase, aku bgn pagi kul 0600 hours. Tapi, alangkah terkejutnyer aku, langit di KK dah cerah macam kul 0730 hours. Terus bersiap-siap, kul 0730 hours kami pergi training lagi bersama-sama rider lain. Today nothing much happen. Finish training at 1600 hours. Went back to hotel for shower. Then at 1800 hours go to BBQ arranged by organizer. Eat and drink all that you can. Drink beer – free, drink 100 PLUS – pay. Yeah, thanks organizer for
Day 3 (16/05/09 Saturday)
Hari ni aku sempat dengar azan subuh at 0445 hours tp xlarat so pengsan balik. 0700 hours breakfast and then go to the track for seeding run (time trial). But the seeding start at 1000 hours, so aku pun menghabiskan masa flirting with RedBull’s girls. Kaching!! Berjaya jugak dapat nombor phonenyer. Hu hu hu… seeding run finish at 1430 hours. Go back to hotel and get ready for night out with RedBull’s girls.
At 2000 hours we meet up with the girls. Masalahnyer, the meeting point is about 300 meters from the hotel! Why? Alasan, kalu “Mak Ayam” area hotel see outside women in that area, they will immediately halau atau maki them. Mau jaga business ba…. Tak bley belah. Malam tu kami planned to have dinner at seafood restaurant near Tanjung Aru Beach 2, Restaurant Selera, but our guide sesat! A journey of 15 minutes become 45 minutes. WTF? We become the guest of Iza (RedBull’s event manager), and anak buahnyer Zila (sumandak), Fiona (Indo-Kadazan), and Eyna (Bajau).
At 2400 hours, we decided to go for a massage. Massage only yer! Nak buang stress, kononnyer. Cost about RM63 for whole body massage. The jobs were done by Filipino girls. Nice…
Day 4 (17/05/09 Sunday)
Race day! At the track 0900 hours and stretching before start the race. Race start at 1030 hours. Hari nih aku bg 110% berbanding semalam. Tapi gelojoh sgt sampai xdpt buat clean run. A bit sketchy here and there. Bengang betul! Cumer dpt improve 10 seconds dr time semalam. Placing nombor 11 jer, target Top 10. Tapi aku sempat jugak lah duduk kat HOT SEAT tu, sebab masa aku terpantas (for the moment). Dikelilingi awek-awek sumandak sebagai gadis litar. Pergh….
Nasib aku memang baik, walaupun xdpt Top 10 tp aku menang cabutan bertuah. He he he…. Dapat ler brake hydraulic KCNC, worth RM800. Berbaloi jugak aku datang jauh-jauh.
Di sebelah malamnyer pulak, organizer already arrange a party at Water Front. Aduhai gadis-gadisnyer meletup-letup. Tp aku xlama kat situ sebab diorang semua dah start mabuk. So, me and my team mate went for window shopping at Filipine market, Warisan Mall, and
Day 5 (18/05/09 Monday)
Bangun awal hari ni bersiap-sedia tuk keluar dating ngan awek RedBull. Our tour guide today are Eyna (Bajau girl) and Suzane (Dusun girl). Start journey at 0730 hours, straight to Karambunai. Punyelah awal sampai, beruk pun tak nampak batang hidung. Dah la masuk RM10 pax. But, we enjoy the nice scenery of paya bakau in the morning with kicauan burung hijrah.
Karambunai
Next, we decided to go to Ranau where the Kinabalu Parks located. The journey is around 83km (1 ½ hours drive) along the banjaran crocker. Along the way, you will pass through Kundasang. Here the scenery is almost the same as in Lord of the ring movie, cume banyak anjing liar je. Then you will come across nama tempat ‘Bundu Tuhan’. Aku ingatkan tempat ape da… rupenyer ade cite disebalik nama nih. Kalu suke-suke je tebang, boleh jadi kulit berkudis (mungkin die dah kene kut, aku cube gak usha tapi tak nampak lak). ‘Tuhan’ lak maksudnye tumbang. Tapi aku still tak dapat kaitkan dua perkataan tu. Kompius aku. Tapi scenery kat sini memang champion. Goreng pisang nyer fresh, kitorang pun tanpa segan-silu top-up lagi. Kemudian kami pun singgah di Kundasang War Memorial. Taman-taman bunga yang cantik mengaburi peristiwa hitam lalu.
Berlatar-belakang kaki gunung Kinabalu yang ditutupi awan
Diorang suruh tunggu hari panas boleh nampak Gunung Kinabalu, tapi nak tunggu brape hari?
Seterusnye, kami singgah di
Starting gate to
Namun masa amat mencemburi kami. Cancel. Kami pun bertolak pulang ke KK. On the way back, singgah jugak kat Kg. Setelah selesai, singgah pulak kat 1Borneo Mall shopping baju jap.
Finally arrived at hotel, siap packing kami pun bertolak ke airport. Flight depart kul 2130 hours. Selamat tinggal KK. I love KK…
